The ANtiquarian Horological society has just announced the publication of a new book on the famous Britisch clockmakers dynasty of

    VUILLIAMY

have not seen it yet, but their publications usually are interesting and well done.

Their web site may ofer a link to order publications

    www.ahsoc.demon.co.uk

but doesn NOT list this book yet.

In the meantime I have gotten mycopy of the book (and the LARC research and lending libraries should have their copies within a few weeks).

The Book costs 17 Pounds and is a relatively slender volume of 50 pages Written by David G. Vuillamy a direct decendent of the famous Benjamin ewisL. Vuillamy, active in London 1780-1854 (allready his father and grandfather were clockmakers).

He was Clockmaker to the King, and in 1828 he wrote a treasie on PUBLIC CLOCKS.

The book has a good family tree, 9 color and 12 b&w illustrations.
