New Haven compensated Pocket Watch era?

this is a New Haven pocket watch. i have no idea when it was made. i have seen many New Haven pocket watches online, but none like this one. i got it at a flea market for 10.00. can anyone tell me when this thing was made?

New Haven ceased production in 1956. To my knowledge, no New Haven watches that I have seen are dated or serial numbered. From the style of the case (the short stem pendant), I would guess that it was made in the 1940's to the 50's.

I have one just like it and from what I can see, the stem on yours and mine is not common on the other NH dollar watches seen here. Most seem to have a collar around the stem that anchors the fob ring and the knurled surface on the stem is thicker. Not sure what this means but one day perhaps a specific model will come from this discourse. Townsend's book is not helpful in this regard.

Townsend's book, The Watch That Made The Dollar Famous, on page 86 pictures one of these as a part of a Sears 1947 advertisement. Sold for $2.64.

Pat, yes, the expanded version. It's the only one I have.
