New Haven cigarette dispenser

New one here.
New Haven cigarette clock from auction.
Worked great, kept good time.
Wound as needed for several weeks then this morning winding key felt odd and handle spun loose as if it stripped or something fell apart inside.
Later in the day I got time to investigate.
Loosened nuts to get it apart from leather case and 2 of 4 nuts got stuck at the end of studs and backed out nut and stud as one piece.
No problem until I lifted outer shell and whi
Mainspring unwound.
The back plate lifted as it wasn't held tight.
Got it futher apart and wheels were dropping out left and right. Random nuts as well.
Long story short it's back together.

Very unique clock. How does it work? Do you manually turn the clock to expose a cigarette? They must be spring loaded for one to come out half way.

Yes springs under each. The clock and lid just sits on top and you rotate it and a cig pops out. It a appears there could have been an ashtray metal or glass inside or just storage for a lighter.
All leather on the outside.
No numbers on mvmt I can see to guess age and what not.
