New Hampden with coin case

    This was in the mailbox today, I love coming home after work to watch mail.
    This is really nice looking watch and a heavy case. I think this is the original case for this watch. I think this is a grade 57 from 1884.
    This is big heavy watch, unfortunately it isnt running.

    Good looking earlier model 3!
    Looks like a No. 57 to me.

    Here's one of my favorite Hampden listings, original posting credited to Jerry Treiman and more like it can be found in the informational pocket watch threads sticky.

    They were charging $7.50 for that movement. The inflation calculator thinger online says this would be $211.61 today. Whew!

    I love seeing these old sales pamphlets and advertising pages that are posted in alot of threads. They put perspective to these old watches. I like to think that Doc Holiday or Wyatt Erp could have been using a similar watch.

    That coin silver Champion is one of Dueber's heavier ones. Very nice. It does look like it could be all original to me. I hope you can get that movement running-maybe just a mainspring?
