Hello Luitjes,

was lucky and could buy two Grivolas, of which one is a Utilia.

The both need some cleaning etc.
The disc of the Utilia is not numbered as far as I can see (didn't yet open it, so maybe inside?). The Utilia also has the temperature compensating "piefje".

I have no idea what the function is of the little piece sticking out of the bottomplate of the Utilia is. Therefore I think that the bottomplate perhaps is not original, but maybe I am wrong.

Very nice! A Grivolas is on my bucket list. The first numbers indicate the year as in 1908, 1913, etc. That nub on the base plate is probably correct in my opinion. That is there as a third point to secure the plate underneath the base that adds rigidity to the base.

Hi Peter
I have one very similar to your four glass but with 12 and 24 hours on the dial they are very good quality and keep excellent time, although I found my one is better with a Horolovar torsion spring.

Thank you all for the comments.

I still do have some questions:
- Is it possible that John Hubby gives out/or insight in his archive about the numbers of the Grivolas he has uptill now?
- I also saw that in the thread "Post your ..... Grivolas .... here", that that thread is no longer accesseble? Can it be opened or is it strictly for and from mr Hubby?

John Hubby checks in from time to time, but sometimes he's out of the country. As for the Post Your Grivolas, I just opened that thread and had no problems. Should be open to all.

Strange. I'll use the Report button to draw attention from the Moderators.
