Electric WW Need Help with Repairing my Watch

Hi there,
I have a Fila titanium Chronograph watch. I like it alot but now it decides to stop working, well the main time anyways, the chronograph still works. I thought it was the battery but changing it has made no difference. I think something inside could be lose or maybe even worn out. Sometimes i can shake it and the watch will start moving, but it will last about an hour un-touched. I haven't a clue about fixing watches, so any feedback would be very helpful.

Asked how much it would cost to get it sorted in a shop, was alot of money, so maybe someone can lead me into the right direction without having to pay lots for somethinga taht could take hardly any time at all.

Absolutely not!...

Great care must be taken with quartz watches, as magnetic fields are used in its operation. The device 107weststreet mentions is a specialised piece of kit designed for the job...

(before you ask, I dont have one either, and I only just have got back into watch repairs, specialising in Bulova Accutron.....)

The stepper motors in the watch comprise a tiny magnet which could be irreversably damaged by a conventional de-magnetiser....

Even the de-tagging sens-o-matics used for shop security can destroy a quartz watch or make it run backwards--I have that on good authority from a friend who works on the check-out at Asda.....
