Hello to all,
I have received a (Seth Thomas U.S. Navy Deck Clock No. 2), serial # 5486 from my grandfather. I've exhausted on line research determing the date of Manufacture and can only find info on the No. 1 model and No. 3 models
No Number 2. Seems as though it must be very rare. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Harlan Crouch

Harlan There should be a date on the movement ex. 3-44. does it have a round platform or a rectangular. More than likely it is from the 40's. I would be happy to answer any more questions you have. Military clocks are my specialty. Cheers Bill@fixoclox:)

I'm having it restored to working order and will stop by to see the date myself while it is open. Have you ever heard of a Navy Deck Clock # 2?
I only find reference to the #1 and #3 on line.
Thanks.
Also, Do you think there is any way to figure which vessel it came off as i have the Navy serial # as well. on the dial
Much appreciated,

Harlan

Harland That is strange the # 2 are the most commom.Try a google image search. Seth Thomas had no real serial # plan only Chelsea did and still does. The numbers you saw is the movement number. You can buy a parts manual on e bay for seth thomas it has all thier deck clocks the seller usually is lee73. It is a reprint but it has pictures . Even with chelsea it is impossible to tell what ship they were on. Some of these clocks were actually stolen and if caught during or after WWII the penelties were very severe. The rest of them were liquidated. Some were even destroyed (government thinking). If you ever need parts we will be here. Check my website www.fixoclox.net.Glad to help

Does this boat clock have 3 pieces the clock case, the mounting flange and the forever missing bulkhead shock mount. If it is complete and as clean as you say figure around $300.00. If no shock mount $225 to 250.00 Read the post before this about the manual available. Cheers Bill@fixoclox
