Need glass dome for 1000-day clock

I have a 1000 clock that runs very well, but I'm missing the dome. The clock is dated 12 55, and it doesn't appear to have the notches for the locking plastic dome. I assume it came with a standard glass dome. The diameter is about 5" and the height should be about 8-9" I'm guessing. If anyone can confirm those measurements, I'd appreciate it. More importantly, if anyone can tell me where to find one, that would be great. I thought about buying a parts clock off ebay, but then I'd have another clock to rebuild and when I was done, it wouldn't have a dome. I have checked all the usual parts houses, but no luck. Thanks.

Hi,
Look here possibly :

Amicalement GG
I have checked TimeSavers and all the other "usual" suppliers I could find. I'll look into these other sites and try to translate them. I think the 130mm X 200mm would be the closest fit.

Thanks. I have never heard of MileHi, but will put them on my list of suppliers. They do show one in their catalog for $55. I have emailed them to see if they have one available. Their part number is G 33 D, dimensions 5 1/8" X 8". Their codes and footnotes mean it's glass, domestic, and hand blown and subject to imperfections.

I'm not familiar with a 1000-day clock (Schatz, right?) with a plastic dome that locks into the base. I have a couple of 1000-day Schatz clocks with the standard glass dome. Mine measures a skoosh over 5" in diameter and about 8.25 to 8.50 inches high.

Thanks for the measurements. I own two 1000 clocks - dome and lantern - both glass. Apparently, Schatz used plastic for a few years, and the dome somehow locked into place. I have seen pictures and read about them on this site, but have never seen one.

The plastic domed 1000days has an additional brass plate between the base the and the clock that had the notches to lock the plastic dome.
The image is a rough garage sale find stamped 1956. Never could find a plastic or glass dome to fit this properly but by removing the locking plate a glass dome would fit. Clock's running today.

Give Lew at Mile Hi Clocks Supplies a call. I spoke with him yesterday for the first time, looking for something that Timesavers told me was backordered. Very nice guy, personal, and helpful. Will definitely keep him on speed-dial in the future.
