I am the editor of the Chapter 75 newsletter, The Regulator, and I am always in need of horological articles, especially on watches.

If you have short articles, how-to, history, general info, or what ever, that I may use, please PM me.

Contributors will be given full credit.

Thank you.

Robert, this may be too simple, but I'm sure you could find lots of interesting articles by pulling posts off the message board.

Harold:

Yes, I have thought of that. I would like to do it with the permission of the authors; so in those cases I have been PMing them as needed. Most everyone has been very willing to allow me to use their info.

I would also like permission to use longer articles as might be found on individual websites.

If anyone is willing to let me pull from their websites, please let me know.

An iteresting question here for our moderators:

Does the NAWCC consider the info posted on the MB copyrighted by the NAWCC?

Hi Andy,

Who owns the copyright? The board or the individual authors?

Cheers, Ralph

Andy:

How do we request permission to use NAWCC copyright material from the MB?

Andy, no question that NAWCC own the copyright to all the info posted on the NAWCC website. There is a statement to that effect on the site.

However, as I understand Internet protocol the person posting messages on an open, unmoderated message board such as this are the copyright owner and NOT the NAWCC. NAWCC does not claim copyright (or responsibility) for any of the messages posted here, doing so would make the NAWCC directly liable for content and we do NOT want to be in that position.

Robert, you need to get the individual author (user) permission to copy or use any of the material here.

John:

Thank you. That is the procedure I have been following. And, as I stated above, all authors get full credit.

Could you outline the main subjects covered the The Regulator?

Where/how is it available?

Jessica:

The Regulator is the monthly newsletter of NAWCC Chapter 75 of the San Fernando Valley in Southern California.

It is mailed to each member of Chapter 75 and its main purpose is to keep the membership advised as to Chapter events and news.

Other than Chapter events and news, there is no main subject. We try to find horologic topics that would be of interest to our clock and watch enthusiasts.

Have you thought of including short book reviews of newly pulished horological books in "The Regulator", there are at least a dozen book reviewas I have written over the last 2 years (many never published elesewher in the USA) posted on the Horologolical books section of this Bulletin Board. You - or any other chapter newsletters - are welcome to publish them with author attribution.

Fortunat:

Thank you very much! Yes, I would like to do book reviews. Of course, I will give you full credit. Please let me know, by PM if you prefer, how you would like the credit to be worded.

I especially need watch related articles and reviews.

Thank you again.

I believe the most of my book reviews are still at

http://dgchrono.de/bibliothek/bookreviews.html

site although right now the whole site seems to be down

Alternatively you can find most of them on the Horological books forum on the MB of NAWCC, where yu can search "this forum only" and "Review"
