Does this National Silver Company clock take the same suspension spring as a Schatz anniversary clock?

Hi terofpa!
The best way to help You with Your question is if You post a clear picture of the whole backplate of Your clock, best with removed suspension spring guard (which covers the Susp.spring)Then we can determin the exact number of backplate in our reference book, the "400 Day Clock Repair Guide"by Charles Terwilliger and tell You wich SS is needed.Looking foreward to the pic!

Without a good photo of the back plate, I believe the clock was make by Kienenger & Obergfell (Kundo), as it has the same pendulum and finial as a clock I have, although mine has "The National Silver Co." stamped in an arch (the way Kundo stamped their own logo). It also has two viewing holes in the front of the movement, which I've seen in many pre-war Kundo movements (I can't remember if they all had them).

If so, it would take a .032 suspension spring.

Best regards,

Mark

It appears to be plate #1559 appearing on page 156 of the Horolovar book. The spring is .0032 (.081mm). It looks like your suspension saddle is missing, unless you have it set aside. Hope this helps.
