I just got this and it's amazing way people leave out when describing a clock.
Missing second wheel in strike side and on the outside I'm not exactly sure. Strike Warning arm? Part of it? Not sure. Hoping someone can provide me with a picture of what's missing.
Should I give up on this one?
My best bet would be to figure out who made it and find a donor. Any help greatly appreciated

Nice clock and your solution would be a good one. Trouble will be, square Frenchies aren't that common. :(

Some would call your clock a 'toilet seat' clock.

Good luck, Willie X

So sitting here looking at pics and figuring this thing out and realize it's a square plate that works like all the round French plates. Go ahead and laugh now. But it's the first one I've seen like this being square.
But my thought is what my chances of using the strike activator wheel and warning Detent arm off of a round movement. I know someone that has quite a few parts for those.
I was just watching something about these also. Showing how something stopping the strike train would stop the going train and that's probably what happened so they took the wheel and the arm off instead of fixing.

I amazingly found the only square French movement on ebay and from all appearances looks the same. Maybe the clock gods will smile upon me and the parts I need will be there. It was cheap enough I took the chance. Lots of round ones. I'll soon see.

Don’t get too excited too soon as pendulum specs might be different.

I'm not, every hole up the both sides matched, the count wheel same place as was the arm on outside. So it does look good but who knows until I get it. I'm also amazingly also bidding on another one just like it different name on it. But it won't be a donor.

French clocks are notorious for looking alike but the parts don't interchange very often. Good luck, Willie X
