I just got this back from being cleaned and since I'm excited I thought I'd share a couple of pictures.

This is a 12s 21j Elgin serial 8540078. I don't know much about the early Elgin 12s watches but I've got this one and a nice B.W. Raymond like it (19j). I took a look and it seems they only made 2,000 of this grade. Sorry to bore you if you're not into Elgins.

These are really beautifully made watches. Take a close look inside and you will see that the gear train is all polished gold, not just the center wheel. ... and low production, too.

Fantastic 1899 Elgin! I love Elgins too!

Even though the total production on your watch was only 2000, your watch was one of only 1000 made in that run! How Great! First grade 237, all made in the same year! Can it get any better! WOW!

That's a beautiful watch for sure.

I have mine in to be taken care of now, and I can't wait to get them back.

Thanks for sharing it with us.
