Hi everyone, just picked myself a little treat up and she runs lovely. But try as i might i can't find the makers mark and wondered if you lovely people can help. I really love to keep a note of the history of my clocks. any help would we appricated. The mark on the movement was the only thing i could find apart from a paper ticket on the door stating checked by, etc 20220817_131149.jpg 20220817_131722.jpg

Kurt is right, this is indeed the mark for URGOS. Although the company had a relatively short life compared with other makers (1920-1991) it was one of the most productive German clock factories. URGOS stands for Uhren und Gongfabrik Schwenningen); this name was used from 1923 onwards.

You have a nice clock with Westminster chime and it likely dates from between the wars. probably 1930s.

thank you JTD and Bernhard, i bought it because i liked the look of it, thats why value isn't important and the fact i got it for £15 suggests it's not a rare bird, but i love her. Just thinking of a name for her now as all my clocks get a female name. Generally reflects who they came from, places or clock makers etc. can't wait to set her going in time with the others. the hour in our house is quite noisey.
