    Hi to everyone.
Browsing internet accidently found a citate : "Luxury watches - you acquire the right to take care of them, but they remain the property of their manufacturers."
    (Roland Ranfft)

    And remembered the Patek advertising

You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely take care of it for the next generation.

Question - Who Said It First? As those are almost the same sentences imho.

And please, do not take my question too serious :) Just curious.

    Thanks

I think this is a common sentiment for anyone who ``owns`` or is merely a caretaker of a piece of art, heirloim watch/clock, or anything of beauty. We are just conserving and taking care of it so the next generation can appreicate it.

They don't seem the same to me. The first appears to be perjorative, the second is a commonly said thing about purchasing antiques, PP are obviously using a marketing ploy to identify their new watches as antiques of the future.
