Re: movado ermento

It is a nice example. I doubt that it ever had a center second hand. The outer ring is for minutes,. These are almost always 15 jewel watches. They are fairly hig grade. Movado was on a serious phase of brand development and were competing in time trials at this time.

The NAWCC bulletin has had several articles on these.

If is is stamped 925 and has Glasgow import marks its probably gold plated silver or more upscale "vermeil? teh fancy Frenc word for gold plated silver.

Re: movado ermento

Though I rarely find cause to quibble with Dr. Jon, I do think I see the pinion for a center seconds hand, and the dial seems appropriate for a center sweep seconds watch. It is likely the Movado 125, which was available in an indirect seconds version. A nice watch in what appears to be good condition.
