• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

Missing hands for a Seth Thomas grandfather clock.

I obtained a nice, simple grandfather case for free. The movement was trash (plastic snail gears that had broken), so I cleaned and repaired a 1976 Seth Thomas USA-made movement I had. It's running nicely (see pics). The problem I've run into is the friggin' hands. The minute hand post (square) measues slightly larger than many- at 0.085 inches or 2.2 mm. The hour tube outer diamater is 0.185 inches (4.7 mm). I have searched most of the standard clock parts suppliers, and no one seems to have anything that would fit. Without getting into trying to micro-file a smaller bore set of hands to fit, does anyone out there have any advice, or access to hands that would fit?

Thanks
Bill
