P1030425.JPG This is the full size Kienzle calendar 400-day clock made in 1912. Dials have been reported with the days of the week in German, English and this one in French.

P1030477.JPG This is my most recent creation being a miniature model using a KOMA midget 400 day movement with the day/date cadrature added to the front of the movement in the same way as the larger original clock.

The little clock has performed perfectly for over 6 months.

wow,the originals often do not perform reliably, and this miniature might be more sensitive to a lack of power! Congratulations!!
Do these change day and date simultaneously or one after the other?

These Kienzle calendar clocks work reliably if the two star wheels ( day & date ) are friction free and when disconnected from the hour wheel, spin freely.
Then the springs which keep the star wheels in position must be very soft and long, to apply light but positive positioning pressure.
True, you would expect the calendar work would add load to the motion work but I have the two star wheels operating sequentially, not simultaneously. They change between midnight and 5am.

See the long index springs in the picture. The full size clock I own runs perfectly as well.

P1010377.JPG This is the full size clock.

P1010380.JPG So is this. Note the long soft springs.

This is the miniature . Long soft indexing springs add very little load . thumbnail7.jpg thumbnail9.jpg

Hello! I made the missing wheels for Kienzle kalendar with success. I want to make the thumbnail the same. Fixoclock is it possible for you to show drawings of these elements from the date stamp? Thank you. Izydor.
