Mini watchmaker bench

Bought this "mini" bench at the estate sale of a jeweler/watchmaker. The man's business had been here in Rockford for decades.

Used a Benrus parts tin for the base. Painted the cap and jeweled the well placed holes. Drilled a center hole and screwed a ww crown for the cap.
Finished off by stuffing an old piece of Rodico up in there to keep them steady and angled out.
Used a 32 gauge electric guitar string for the drivers.
Cut and removed some of the winding to expose the inner wire.
Ground the ends and used a colored glass bead held on with crystal cement then topped them off with a dab of black paint.

These tools comes in handy when servicing very small watches e.g. Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 101

How cool is that. Do the drawers on the bench actually open and close?
