Hello, it's been some time since I've posted...

I wanted to get an opinion on a recent garage sale find. Its a early 40's military style watch with original leather band (leather front, canvas back) with 24 hr numbers on outside bezel and red 24 hr numbers on the inner ring of the dial; sub-dial seconds, with "Center" written just under the inner ring on the dial. Watch looks to be stainless; however some brassing around the lugs. Outer case back is stainless with "PATENT NO302074 Stainless" no marks on the inside of case back.Movement is encased in another stainless casing; however looks swaged into place with crown and steam protected from the elements. Thanks!

Can you get a picture of the movement?

It doesn't actually say stainless steel.
Rules were different back then. Chromed brass could be classed as stainless.
Not that I'm saying it isn't stainless steel. Only suggesting that it doesn't have to be.
