Help. Have a Timex "Electric" Mickey Mouse watch. The movement was trashed by a leaking battery. Face and Hands are in excellent shape. Have found a replacement movement. But the old movement refuses to leave the watch. cant find any tabs or screws or a retaining ring holding it in. Any suggestions?

This is for the "OLDER" timex electric watches.
A picture of the movement would be of great help

If it's a newer model all bets are off !

if you look with the back off, where the stem enters the movement, either side of the stem you will see and opening and in each opening a steel arm tapering toward the stem as it first enters the movement.

You must take a pair of pointed tweezers, place them close to the stem "inside" of both of those steel arms. You then have to spread the tweezers moving those tapered steel arms away from the stem. Then wiggle the stem out while holding the tweezers spread apart to allow the stem to come out. A third hand would be helpful but it's do-able.

Just wanted to say thanks to Mr Bill for this info. Couldn't figure out for life of me how to pull the stem. Also wanted to add that I could just angle the tweezers to spread the 2 prongs wide enough so to pull the stem. Also had to spread them to insert as well. Had to use a knife edge to pop the plastic crystal off, don't like doing that much... but it worked. Some are easy and some aint.
