Hi all,

A friend asked me if I could get this running.... I told him that it looks like it was buried in someones yard for a few years before being found again. The back cover is missing and it's full of soil and rust. I had to soak the stem set screws for 2 days with penetrating oil to get them to budge to remove the stems. Here is my question. Is this movement back loading or front loading in the casing? It is so encrusted that movement won't budge in the case. I don't know if the bezel removes and movement pushes out the front or if it supposed to feed out the back? Appears to be a retaining ring on the back-but it doesn't move. Anyone know? I have included a pic of a family member's very nicely maintained Memovex to soften the blow of what someone did to this first one! Thanks!!

Could you get a clue to how the movement is leaving the case by looking at the nicer unit from your family member?

I usually dont give up on old damaged movements but this seems to be a bit over the line of what I would consider salvagable.......

Thanks! I already tried that - but they are different movements/configurations and the nice one has no retaining ring like the damaged one. Hoping someone might have removed one like this damaged one before.

Problem solved! It's front loading. I was able to coax bezel off and it pushed right out through the front. Thanks for listening to my rant :). If I do get it running-will post pics!
