I've started researching the markings on this old British? watch but i could use some help in confirming what I'm seeing...

I'm sure its imported 18k / .750 gold and I think that is a London hallmark with a date code of 1914 but I'm uncertain. Any ideas?

Hi MINI,

It's certainly 18 carat with a London import mark for 1914/5, and the sponsor's mark is for Arthur Baume in Hatton Garden, who was a watch importer and the London agent for Longines, so it's quite likely that the movement isn't English, especially as the case is stamped 'Swiss'. A picture of the movement would be helpful.

Regards,

Graham
