• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Hello,
this clock I got from a friend and would be grateful if someone could explain something to me about it.
On the dial, nothing is recorded. The back of the right to read the letter "B" in a circle, the left letter is not recognized.
The clock is very heavy - probably marble.
Manufacturer, origin, age would be interesting for me.
Thanks for best answer.
friendly greetings
HNO

Hi Mikadomo. You have a nice black slate (probably Belgian slate) clock with a French time only movement. I can't find a reference for the mark, others may know. the mark may be the retailers stamp. The movement will be of a very good quality, these french movements are made with good materials and excellent finish. It was probably made ca1900.
Examples of French movement makers of this type include Japy Freres, Marti, Vincenti and Raingo. All producing very fine movements. German clock makers did produce very similar movements also.
