Hi,
In France, the term "Patented SGDG" (Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement) was a legal term that relieved the State of all responsibility for the effective operation of the patented device.

This mention was established by the law of July 5, 1844 Art.33 1, which states that patents are granted "without prior examination, at the risk and peril of the applicants, and without guarantee either of the reality, novelty or merit of the invention, or of the accuracy or precision of the description".

This mention disappeared in 1968.
