Maker ID & Date - Tall case w/ Wooden Movement

    1 month Newbie to NAWCC. This is my first post. Looking for help for name and date of recent purchase.

    This is likely a Gideon Roberts, or Gideon Roberts Jr., product. The dials on these are rarely signed, but the unusually wide distance between the plates is a hallmark of Roberts clocks. See Phillip Morris's book, American Wooden Movement Tall Clocks for detailed information. If you measure the distance between plates, I think you'll find it's around 3", about a quarter inch more than other production era Connecticut tall clocks.

    It looks to be walnut, but hard to tell without a closer examination.
