Is there an easy way to make the hour hand of these old hands a tighter fit? I'm assuming it will need a new bushing? I don't normally deal with these clocks, and know they aren't any longer available.

A tiny speck of Super glue, will do it. That's all I know of, short of finding a good used one, which shouldn't be that hard to do. Willie X

Timesavers sells them but they are expensive. I searched for some for a lady who had lost hers and wanted old original hands. I found them on eBay from Holland. Quite costly.

This one stays on, but you can tell it's been bumped more than it's fair share of time and isn't as tight as it should be.

I use little strips of .0015" brass shim stock sometimes. Both of the measures, I'm mentioning, will last indefinitely, or until the hand is knocked around a few times. :) Willie X

Hi Powerstroke,
maybe some heat-shrink tubing can help you?

Whatever it is, it would have to be super thin, because it already stays on. It's the design of the case. Has this gaudy black velvet that makes the hand not push down far enough.

Sounds like the movement needs to come forward a bit. Many of these clocks have been dropped. Willie X

I put the old feet on, which bring the movment closer to the case . The new feet make the mocmwnt much farther away and won't work at all. How else
Can you make it even closer? I don't think this one was ever dropped on the floor. The case is perfect.

It depends on what you have there but (usually) there is a 'way'. Willie X

One trick that I was taught is a bit of clear fingernail polish. It is very inexpensive, cannot be seen and can be reversed if needed. I use it on hand nuts all the time. Good Luck!
