Mainsprings for New Haven 30-day movement

The New Haven 30-day movement used in my Rutland model calendar clock uses 2 mainsprings for driving the time-only gear train. Does anyone know the size of these springs? Thanks for your assistance.

I've never seen that movement but I would try a couple of .0165" x 96 inchers. To weak go with .018". Probably can find them as 10 footers too.

Best way to find the right size is to measure what is in the clock now. This movement is not listed in our mainspring chart from LaRose.

Thanks for the responses... I just measured one of the old dirty springs. Measures 3/4" wide and 108" long. I don't know the thickness (strength). I see that Timesavers has both a 3/4"x.014"x108" and a 3/4"x.016"x108" spring available. Since the movement uses both springs to drive the time-only gear train I am thinking I should go with the .014" thick spring?

BTW I was not familiar with the New Haven 30-day movement prior to owning this calendar clock. An English patent number is stamped on the movement.

If they are just dirty, why not clean them and re-use them??

Yes, what Harold said. I had assumed the springs were missing. If the springs have a rough and mottled appearance, they could be wrought iron springs. Wrought iron springs are by nature thicker than modern springs but not stronger. I do not usually replace them unless they show cracks or rust.

Thanks, Harold and Willie. The clock had not been stored properly for many years, so both springs are very rusty. I movement is very dirty but should clean up nicely.
