Mainspring winder sizing.

Hello and good-afternoon,

I have another question please?
I am now looking at mainspring winders mostly for 16s American pocket watches and my question is how do I size the winder for the spring? I really dont want to screw up as right now I am thinking of single purchases rather than the whole kit,
Am I right in thinking that the majority of winders for the Waltham are mostly right hand.

I use the Watch-Craft set. The barrel I use for most 16-size watches is 14.7mm. I would actually recommend getting this set (or the K&D equivalent #126 set) instead of buying individual winders.

Thanks for this, its pretty difficult getting special tools in UK unless you go new but it pricey, I am looking as I do require a winder for mainsprings, I am not at home so no access to my mainspring barrels you mention 14.7 would a 14mm or 15mm work? the reason I ask I was thinking of just purchasing the sizes that I require so I can move forward.
