Okay, So I decided to clean and put a new mainspring in my Waltham 845 after taking it out of the case to take a picture for another thread on the board. It has a broken mainspring....
For the life of my I cannot figure out how to take the barrel apart. I don't want to force anything and risk breaking it. Can someone help me out here? The arbor seems fixed on both ends.....
Thank you in advance,
Grant

It unscrews.

Kind of a neat design. Some of the 16s Highest grade Walthams use the same design concept.

Somewhere on this board there is (or at least used to be) an explanation.

Grant,

I do believe that your barrel arbor is threaded. You will need to unscrew the 2 piece arbor.

Great! Thanks much!!! The diagram was very helpful. I followed the instructions and it worked out great. The watch is back in service!
Thanks again,
