I have a Seth Thomas 89 that has a very loud train when striking. Is this something I can change? Is it just the acoustics of the case? I don't remember it being that loud on the test stand. What should I look at? Thanks, Danny

Unless the fan or stop pin is actually hitting something, look for worn trundles in the pinion on the fan arbor and worn pivot holes, especially at rhe fan arbor.

Thanks, RC. I'll look at those and let you all know what I find.
