• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Hello,

I'm totally new to the grandfather clock collection. Still, I'm reading about them and I had a chance of having one for myself. As still it does not come to my place I don't have much information other than the attached picture and I know it is made in Germany. If you are familiar with the modal/ design, please let me know more details. I'll post more photos once it's with me.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

A picture of the back of the movement will be most helpful in identifying your clock.

Once you receive the clock, please provide as many pictures of the movement, especially the back of the movement. Perhaps the seller of the clock can provide you with such pictures.

Regards.

Hello everyone,

Finally, I got the clock! It's a Cymbal-Gong.
I'm attaching some pics here.
Could anyone please help me to find out the estimated year of manufacture of this clock?

It works perfectly and I love the chime.

The Cymbal Gong is a trademark of Kienzle, a German movement maker, so your movement is presumably from Kienzle.

We have contributors who are tracking Kienzle serial number and can provide you with a circa date of manufacture. You will need to provide a clear picture of the backplate to find the serial number and trademark.

Regards.

Thank you so much.
Finally I could take a clear photo of the back plate. It has 69693 at the centre bottom and 11 5 at the bottom corner.

Is this 69693 a serial number?
And could you please help me tracking down the manufacturer year of my clock?

Thanks a heap.

Your clock movement has corrosion and dirt visible. I hope you plan to have it serviced before running it . great looking clock.

I believe your movement was made by Kienzle in the late 1920s.
Here is a clock with a 1926 sticker.

Similar cases from the catalog for 1926.
