• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Hello I've never done this online before and hope someone can give me information I need about the watch pictured below.

It was purchased on e-bay and I've not seen it yet, but for the pictures and cannot locate it anywhere online...can someone tell me more about it?

This information below is all I've got at this point, will open it up and hopefully learn more with numbers, but to date I cannot find one watch that even looks like it. ??

NOTE: This watch has a broken main spring and does not run.

Otherwise, it is in beautiful condition!

I received this watch in 1994 (see photos) for my 10-year anniversary with my company. It has never been used, and I just found it in the box in a drawer. Sadly, it doesn't run and I'm told from a jeweler that the main spring is broken.

NOTE that there is engraving on the back (see photos).

Includes watch, chain, box, instruction manual and foam protector.

I don't know anything else about the watch.

Hi coins2silver,

Hi and welcome to the NAWCC Forum!!

This most likely has a Swiss movement inside.
In 1984, Hamilton became a subsidiary of The Swatch Group.

I can't tell you too much about your watch but it's not an American product.

Moving this thread to the European section as your Hamilton is a Swiss watch.

It looks to me that this is made from a wrist watch movement and I suspect it may be quartz. Perhaps the instruction book has more information.

I did a quick eBay chack and did not find a similar watch but I did find a quartz wristwatch sold as a Hamilton Masterpiece .

A broken mainspring on a never worn watch is unlikely.
If it is a quartz watch you need ot get it opened and checked. Quartz watch batteries degrade, leak and destroy the watch. If it is quartz the battery has to go if it is not already too late. IF you are not going tuse it keep is closed but without a battery.

If it is mechanical, the repair is simple but will probably cost more than the sale value if the watch.

The guy I purchased from listed it as mechanical. So until I've got it and appreciate your comments and hope it's not a quartz watch, if so it will be returned. It's interesting that no one to date, including myself can pinpoint this watch. Until I open it up myself, it's still a mystery?
