Just got this clock, seems to be working, probably needs cleaning and oiling. I know little about this clock, any info would be appreciated, including ball park on what it's worth.

It's a modern clock and was likely new when it was presented to the recipient in 1978.

I cannot say what it would be worth in the US, I imagine not very much, but in the end it's worth what you paid for it.

Looks like the movement was made in March 1978 (7803) and the clock itself in April 1978 (78 4).

Typo corrected.

I have bought a similar clock for under a 100 dollars. This clock may need a major overhaul.

So far it seems to be working well, keeps good time (ok, overnight at least), strikes and chimes well. Not sure what to look for to determine if it needs a complete overhaul other than worn or gunky pivot holes, and perhaps too much side/end shake. Just looking in from the back it looks ok, I'll have to remove the movement for a better look. I don't want to disassemble the movement if I don't have to.
