    Hi Charlie and welcome!
Do a search on "Fried" as in Henry Fried and you will come up with several threads that discuss the best watch repair book.

There is what's know as the "Chicago School" by Sweazey. It was a home study course; I have a copy. It is in the library too.
Look for 'Master watchmaking : a modern, complete, practical course'. Its available on CD and in the dead trees versions.

Have you considered taking a NAWCC workshop such as WS-111. Its hard to beat interaction with other students and a instructor. Drew and Emily Zimmerman are superb instructors.
