My beloved Schatz 8 day is missing its regulating nut. Please help me finding the replacement nut. Correct info and or data about its dimension and terminology for it would also help me finding a replacement. Thank you!

Welcome to the board.

These are usually called hand set knobs or sometimes handsetters.

I can't see clearly from you pictures but the shaft on which the knob goes doesn't seem to be threaded. If that is the case you could use any hand set knob (press on type) until the real one comes along.

Timesavers sell them (assorted).

Or, if all else fails, it would be fairly easy to construct one on a lathe. If you don't have one, check for local machinists.

Thanks to everyone for their inputs. To JTD: are you correct that the little steel rod sticking out from the shaft is rounded and it's about 4-5mm in length. I will add the terms, handset knob, handsetters to my search. In the wristwatch world, it's called the crown.
