The title volume is just about the most definitive book on the math behind all things horologic, and I use it when designing and making clocks, but has anyone ever seen Volume 2? The NAWCC library has several copies of volume 1, and I wonder if another volume was just their pipe dream that never happened or if the follow on is just so rare that we'll never see it. Any info out there?

I recall looking for it an eventually finding it and determining it was not worth the asking price.

The current equivalent is in French
Traite de Contruction horlogere by Vermot, Bovoy,Prongue, and Dordor ISBN 978-2-88074-883-8

This massive volume is the text for a set of graduate level courses on timepiece design test and manufacture.

It comes with a CD that has a large number of MathCad examples of calculations and includes a PDF version of the previous master text

As well as volume two of that.

I bought the book when it came out in 2011 and truied some of the MAthcAd stuff when I had access to a copy at work. I do not it enough to buy it for my self.

Thanks for the reply Dr. Jon. I did a search and the purchase price is really up there. It hasn't been translated into English yet so the whole subject just became moot, but my question has finally been answered!
