Just finished this Kundo midget, plate 1382. Nothing wrong but a broken suspension spring. So twisted, it looked like a miniature Christmas ornament. There wasn't even much cleaning I could do. Removed the mainspring, but it still had clean oil and none of the holes pegged out any dirt, so had it up and running in an hour. I was surprised and pleased that this midget has adjustable pallets rather than pin pallets. Liking these little midgets more and more.

They are nice and energetic and keep decent time when they're running well.
Saturday's my day to pour for Ironstone at ZinFest in Lodi Lake Park.

They look like a toy, yet keep excellent time. Hope the weather clears a bit for the tastings at the lake.

I'm trying to fix a similar clock, although it is a miniature plate 1381...not much different between the plates except one is a midget and the other a miniature...strange. Anyway, the thing I find with these smaller clocks is that the margin for power is quite small. Relative to the full-sized clocks, the clock must be spot on for it to run.

I also find setting the beat to be harder, since the size of the saddle causes tiny movement to result in huge changes. Half the time I feel it was simply chance that got it right.

I have a screwdriver that fits perfectly in the slot of the saddle above the top block. It makes small adjustments much easier.
