Got a 31 day Korean clock that does not chime at the right time. Chimes about 5 minutes early -- any ideas on how to correct other than take the works apart and advance the minute hand:???: jmd

If the minute hand has a bushing in the center where it attaches, you may be able to insert a square (or rectangular as the case may be) "tool" to hold the bushing and then move the hand to the correct position and reattach the hand.

If it's a copy of an American clock with a J lever, you can decrease the span of the J a little.

That is, adjust the hand to match the clock, rather'n adjusting the clock to match the hand. Easier that way.

The typical Korean clock has an activating lever with a thin brass strip that rides on the two lobe cam on the minute arbor. This can easily be damaged by turning the hands backwards. It may need to be reformed to get the right timing for the strike.

There won't be a J hook, just a drop down lever on the cam on the minute arbor. The end of that lever is the bent part:rolleyes:.
