This clock has been in my family for as long as I can remember. I have no idea of the age. I do know it is a Kienzle with a Bard D.R.G.M chime block. Can anyone identify how old it is?

Welcome. We will need more info to help you. Photos of the clock and the movement are necessary. Just take several photos and click on “attach files” below this window.

Welcome to the forum.

I assume you refer to the "Bardengong", which Schlenker & Kienzle registered as a tradename in 1912.

The Kienzle trademark on your movement was registered in 1921, so we know your clock is not older than 1921.

Regards.

Bloescher,

I answered your questions in the duplicate thread you posted.

Perhaps a moderator can merge these threads before they get out of hand.

Thank you.

Thank you. Yes "Bardengong" I am so new to this. I have always wondered but never looked at any markings until now. I have only had the job of winding it for the last 50 years. It was inherited from my grandmother. With that dating she probably inherited it from her parents. This has definitely peaked my curiosity.

We have contributors who are compiling Kienzle serial numbers and they may be able to narrow the year of manufacture.

Regards.
