• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

I've just brought a kern clock and just had a quick look at it and a really basic question, how do you let the mainstring down, ive only had kundo's before but the kern looks different and it has a little spring attached to the frame
thanks

If you watch the click, you'll see how the spring attaches to it. You have to release that spring, or at least disengage the click so you can let it down.

Hi Markone,if You don´t have a "let-down-key" I´d recommend wearing a leather glove on Your right hand while letting it down with a normal key and disengage the ms-click with Your left.Best is if someone else can hold the base firmly, the mvmt.still on its support.I´ve scraped my fingers badly at my first let down procedure!

im used to letting the kundo's down, but this kern was strange, i had to take the face off to poke the let down catch to release it, leather glove in the other hand holding the winder. Then the little spring came off and had to dismantle every thing to put the spring back on. Now the little spring is there but dosent really hold the catch back that well, have to bit carefull when winding

its good all good fun

markone you have experience with letting down a clock, so you know what to expect.Clicks that dont do their job need to be looked at and repaired.
