• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Hello good morning everyone. Can you please tell me the suspension spring size for this clock I've looked on here and there seems to be different versions? Mine is as pictured...

A torsion clock has to be running in beat before you can determine that your suspension spring is wrong. The top of your pendulum weight looks broken.
And the clock appears to not have been serviced for a decade. Remove the guard from the suspension spring. If it's not twisted or kinked it probably will be ok . Measure the spring with a micrometer to see its thickness.
Also the top bridge is out of position .
Better Photos of the clock without the guard on . & Pendulum top .

Indeed it does. I just pulled that picture off of ebay. So from what I'm reading here I need a .076mm spring.
One's on its way!

The back plate doesn't really match those in the repair guide, but the closest I could find is #1311. It does take a 0.003" spring if needed.

Thank you
I now have the correct spring in place but not sure how much the time adjustment is moving as it hidden on these clocks. What is the correct set up for the pendulum, washers, nuts etc? Any pictures? I did see one pic on here but can't find it

Slight problem I've got. If I tighten up the nut between the pendulum weights I can't make any fast/slow adjustment and if I don't tighten the nut up I can't tell if the weights are being moved out/in during adjustment, Makes me think there's a lock nut missing or it's put together wrong

Here's the thread where I detailed some of the rebuild steps of my Kaiser. In the repair guide, there are pictures which show how the various parts are stacked when going back together. I do recall it being tricky to get things tight enough but not too tight. I think one issue I was having was I could get things tight, but then when I was turning the adjuster the opposite direction, it loosened things up. It's got to go together correctly for things to work.

Thanks for your help. I still had a problem keeping the pendulum still while adjusting the time, the first pic is what the clock came with ( I don't know what are the correct parts). I found a push on retaining clip, and screwed this on to the star shaft so i could lock the pendulum to the shaft and still have clearance for adjusting the slow / fast running. Everything seems balanced and works well.

Here is a picture of the stack up of parts for the pendulum. That retaining clip is a non-standard part.

Cheers for that Kurt, everything seems to be working well so I'm leaving my set up as it is. There's another issue, one of the studs that connect the top and bottom of the clock has been sheared at some time so now it is too short. What is the thread size for this?

John -

I'm not good on threads...probably one of your countryman, Dell, will be along with an answer.
