If you right click on the number of the post you want (right upper corner) and copy the link location, you can use that in your link to go to the specific post.

The software seems to add a link title if you don't make one yourself.
I just highlighted the "Like this" and used the link button (top line, just left of center) to insert the link.
On the second try, the same link, without me assigning the name, invented one for itself. Apparently from the title of the thread.

I appreciate your helpfulness.

I've been working in the American pocket watch Encyclopedia articles, fixing links that were disrupted by the change to the current Message Board. I've been using this thread to do what the title says - checking to make sure that (what I think is) the thread number that I've salvaged from the non-working link comes up as the desired thread.

Mostly, they do. Its the occasional one that doesn't that keeps me coming back here.
