    Hello,

I have a Junghans clock that I would be interested in some guidance to its value.

This one is Westminster strike, the movement has just been cleaned, and works very well. Is it unusual or rare in any way? There is a crack in the glass someone has put tape on I may address in the near future.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you so much!

Not rare, but it is a nice looking clock and should sound good when it chimes. I'd give it around $200 max.

    Enjoy.

How good are you at cutting and bevelling glass?

    Hi,

Yes, I think Isaac provided a fair estimate - I'd say around $150 (US) if the crack is left as it is, and a bit more if it is dealt with.

    Regards.

Looks like a later Junghans clock, possibly after the Diehl Gruppe took over during the mid 1950's. The case style's name varies regionally but has been referred to as Bauhaus. It is not true Art Deco due to the lack of loud symmetrical patterning. There may be a date code on the movement's back plate. While this type of clock is not rare, Junghans' chime clocks were renowned for their good quality so there is more longevity compared to a cheaper make such as Hermle.

The beveled glass will have to be custom cut by a specialist.
