Arrival of a Jerome Paris style clock today. It has a new base and dome. The movement is really running great and has a special design. It’s nice up hear it run.

    Nice find.

Look around the Forums and you will find both the pressed gilt brass and papier mache versions, too. I'm pretty sure I've posted both versions somewhere with the original bases which were decorated. The former was also offered with both a porcelain and paper dial.
    out these clocks.

I think on the Kirk Marine thread, I posted a wall octagon with a movement with "Botsford" plates but the Kirk double escapement. It's also reported in the Bulletin. Snowden loved it!

    Enjoy!

    You're welcome.

Meant to comment that I like that funky stand it's on. Asian?

It is on a Chinese “Root Carved”stand I picked up in Hong Kong , back in 2004. It’s older than the clock!
    Thanks

    Nice.

Almost reminds me of gongshi (scholar rocks). An object admired for it's naturalistic form.

Much info in the Bulletin, too (member accessible).

Here are 2 very good references discussing these clocks:

    October 1989 Bulletin

    October 2007 Bulletin

As mentioned, Chris Bailey's Jerome supplement discusses these, too!

A review of the Forums will reveal multiple examples, including one of a Botsford-Kirk hybrid.
