Greetings. I am trying to find some info on a Schild Co auto clock. I believe it is from 1910-30 era. It keeps time perfectly and must have been used in a car worthy of it's design. 15 Jewels and 3 adjustment design, but I can not find a makers mark on the clockworks. Does anyone have info on this? I included what pics I could take. Thanks

This essentially a pocket watch on steroids. A number of Schild’s auto or travel clocks have 8-day Swiss movements. Any indication that this a Swiss movement? If so, you might try a concurrent thread in the European and Other Pocket Watches forum. Or wait and see what turns up here.

Somewhere on the clockworks i saw the word Swiss so I assume it is swiss. I will take your advise that post to other forums, I tried one and couldn't get registered do to a glitch on their part. But so goes the hunt. Thanks for your reply.

I think Steven meant other threads on this site, for instance 'European & Other Pocket Watches' forum on here.

And yes, it's Swiss. If you google 'A. Schild car clocks' you can find quite a lot about the company.

Are you sure that the clock was intended to be fitted to a car?

I have a LeCoultre travel clock that looks just like that and was fitted to a leather covered travel case.

I also have a car clock out of a 1930s Cadillac.

I like that. Only difference is that one of the "1's" in my 11 is not filled in. Always wondered why?
