Looks to be in great shape. Do you know if the dials are original? I hope they are. They look brand new.

I hate it when they stick stickers on (even on the glass).

I’d rather have a sticker on the glass than on any of the wood.
    It is a nice clock

    Congrats! Nice clock!

According to the condition report in the Schmitt & Horan October, 2019 auction catalog on their website, "Ithaca Calendar Clock Co., Ithaca, NY, "No. 4 1/2 favorite" shelf clock with a spring driven 8 day time and strike movement (E. N. Welch) with a H. B. Horton patented perpetual calendar mechanism in a walnut case with ebonized accents. CONDITION: The case is in pristine condition with original finish throughout. The paper time dial and calendar dial appear original and in very good condition. The hands are original. The door glass is original. An exceptional example of this model."

They don't mention the calendar rollers, but they sure do appear original to me.

Does it have an instructions label?

It appears to have acquired some small abrasions/nicks in shipping?

You can also find some good photo's of the clock on their website entry as well.

Based upon that, it appears to have the pre-1874-75 calendar movement. See the thread for more details.

    Good Morning,

Sorry for the delay with the pictures. Here are a few. Yes the stickers are a pain and they do not come off easily. I have finally gotten it unpacked and going to clean and polish the case. I have some old furniture wax, Marvell's Wax Supreme. My Dad was a antique dealer. It does a wonderful job of rehydrating the wood. I have one jar left :(
The dials do look to be original and the clock is exceptionally clean. Unfortunately Aitor the labels are missing. Hope everyone is well.

    Tommy

Thanks Guys. I have always liked the Ithaca Calendar Clocks. There are two still on my wish list. The Belgrade and the Kildare. Maybe one day :) Does anyone know of a good book about the Ithaca they can recommend?

    Tommy,

NAWCC members can access the digital version of the Bulletin supplement "The Life and Death of the Ithaca Calendar Clock Company" by James W. Gibbs at the link below. If a hard copy is preferred, they are sometimes available from online sources such as Ebay or Amazon.
    https://nawcc.org/index.php/watch-a-clock-bulletin/past-issues-/550?task=view

There are also bits about Ithaca in calendar clock books as well as online ICCCO - Ithaca Calendar Clock Company, Inc.

The Belgrade and Kildare are both wonderful clocks and will be great additions to your collection. If you prefer a shelf clock, you might look into a 3 1/2 Parlor. It has the beautiful crystal pendulum like the Kildare (which also comes in a shelf model.) The Parlors have been reproduced, so you might want to read up on them here on the MB is you decide to go that direction. If you're looking for something more elusive, you can try for one of the Ithaca iron fronts. Good luck in your search!

Thanks PatH for the information. I found and ordered a copy of the book on Amazon. It will be nice to have a hard copy.

My Dad was a Antique Dealer and loved clocks. That is how I got interested. I have liked the Ithaca clocks since I was a kid. I have heard about but have never seen the iron fronts. Was there a special reason that they were made in iron ?

The 3 1/2 Parlor. What a beautiful clock. I have been watching one that is for sale. I will keep you posted on that one :)
