• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Is This Clock Rare Or Something?

I have had the dubious honor of inheriting a cranky, finicky, endlessly frustrating Seth Thomas adamantine mantel clock that belonged to my grandparents.

It has no serial number or date stamp. But the interesting thing is, when I went online to find an image, out of all the images on Google, I could only find one. So is this some kind of rare style or were these clocks common?

Image is attached, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yours is a very nice-looking clock.

I had the honor of inheriting a couple of non-working clocks from my grandfather. I've overhauled and repaired two of the three so far - they both run like new. I am preparing to delve into the third one now.

The common mantra here is if you don't know the last time a clock was serviced, it needs it. That sounds like the case here. Your clock isn't cranky, it's sick. It's asking for help. Please listen to it as a tribute to your grandparents.

It's post 1902.

I would say more of an odditie than a rarity, a mixture of two basic designs.

OK you just made me cry. I found a clockmaker in my town. The clock is on its way to the hospital!
