This Index has been mentioned in several posts. It is also cited in the current Bulletin. Is there a way to go
directly to it to research specific chronometers?

The International Chronometer Index is maintained by the UK's National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. If you send them the details of your chronometer, they will provide whatever information they may have on it and in any case add it to their index.

I do not think Cmdr. Peter Linstead-Smith is still in charge of it, but I do not really know. Their web site may have information on how to contact them. here is Peter's picture back when he was Master of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers. http://www.clockmakers.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/PLS-with-SEA-CADETS.jpg
