• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Just got this in to repair. I'm not sure to call it a true torsion clock. The dancers bounce to advance the escapement. It has an oval dome and top I left with the owner. It also has a plug to cover the winding arbor hole. Mainspring looks to be massive. I'm sure it needs power to move the dancers which are very heavy. Also has a music box in the base. I've never seen anything like it. SAM_8626.jpg SAM_8627.jpg SAM_8628.jpg SAM_8629.jpg

These do come up periodically. The Dresden dancers and the music box are nice options.
The mainspring is strong enough to unseat the 2nd wheel from its arbor. Don't ask me how I know this.
Be extremely careful with the small flywheel at the top of the clock. The pivots are pretty fragile.
Once removed, I'd suggest not taking that piece apart as it's really hard to get the hairspring within it to be in the correct place on its arbor.
