    Anyone here ever heard of such a watch?

    Here is a scan of one of these bird boxes.
    They were made as novelty items in the mid to late 19th century and were to entertain. The boxes were elaboratly enameled and the birds popped out of the box and fluttered and sang. The singing was achieved with small bellows operated by clockwork ands the dancing and fluttering was achieved the same way 79115.jpg

    I don't think the clock in the image shown could be the watch that fits the box in question. The box is obviously for a pocket watch.
